Riviera Retail Expansion

This project involved a pacific surf and lifestyle retail concept, part of a multi location expansion across the Riviera Nayarit region. The design translates a laid back beach identity into a tactile, sun warmed environment. Chukum walls in warm sand tones anchor the space, paired with blue hexagonal cement tile flooring that grounds the coastal palette. Custom oak millwork, including surfboard display shelving, hexagonal plinth retail fixtures, and open cubby storage, provides warm, natural contrast against a stone clad planter box and shower wall, built from chiseled local limestone and filled with tropical bird of paradise and monstera. Merchandise displays are integrated throughout on custom wood fixtures, blurring the line between retail and jungle.

Flooring throughout the space uses a mix of blue hexagonal cement tile and treated concrete, creating clear zones between display and circulation areas without breaking the overall material palette. Walls are finished in chukum, a traditional hand troweled plaster that brings texture and regional character to the space. Millwork throughout, including display shelving, plinths, and the reception desk, is built in natural oak. The reception desk face is clad in Porcelanato Confetto by Marazzi, in a 5x15 format with an Estructurado finish in Mattone, a terracotta toned textured porcelain tile that adds warmth and tactile detail to the display.
